Postpartum Pelvic Floor Therapy
Most birthing people have postpartum issues after delivery. We help birthing people recover, to be sure postpartum issues do not linger and cause lifelong limitations. Low back pain, incontinence, prolapse, diastasis recti (rectus diastasis), pain with intercourse, constipation, and feeling weak and uncoordinated are some of the issues we frequently work to resolve.

Pain or discomfort postpartum?
Many people experience pain postpartum, due to the rapid change in size and shape during pregnancy and birth. Whether you are limited by back pain, pelvic pain, scar pain, tailbone pain, pubic symphysis pain, sacroiliac (SI) joint pain, hip pain, or any other pain. Our experts can help you reconnect to your body and to move pain-free once again.
Painful intercourse?
Healing perineal scars, tight and sensitive pelvic floor muscles, weakness, and other factors play a role in painful intercourse postpartum. Our specialists will determine your root causes to allow you to once again enjoy all types of intimacy.
Bowel issues postpartum?
Prolapse or pelvic heaviness postpartum?
Many people find they have new bowel issues postpartum. Constipation due to changes in gut motility and activity level, pelvic floor weakness associated with tearing, and pain with defecation are some of the common issues we help with postpartum.
Heaviness, pressure, or a feeling of something falling out of your vagina are common symptoms of pelvic organ prolapse. These symptoms can develop any time postpartum, so our experts are prepared to help you resolve current symptoms and to reduce your risk long-term
Urinary issues (frequency, urgency, or incontinence)?
Urinary issues are common postpartum, but can really limit the ability to participate in activities you previously enjoyed. Don’t let anyone tell you that you should just live with it, our team can help you return to healthy bladder habits and keep pee our of your underpants!
Diastasis recti or feeling weak in your core?
What if I had a cesarean?
During pregnancy, your abdominal muscles stretch to provide necessary space for your baby to grow. Postpartum, many people struggle to engage their core in lifting, carrying, or even just walking. Your brain needs to relearn how to connect to your abdominal muscles and to coordinate your abs, hips, back, diaphragm, and pelvic floor muscles together and with the rest of your body.
We are here for you too! Cesarean delivery comes with its own challenges postpartum due to scar tissue and surgical recovery. Pelvic floor issues don’t care how you delivered and you can have the same symptoms after a cesarean. Urinary issues, bowel issues, pain, rectus diastasis, pain with intercourse, are all common after cesarean, but our experts can determine the root cause and help you recover.
Don't see your issues listed? Our specialists have seen just about everything. Our team members can answer any questions about your specific case call or message to find out how we can help!
